Butterfly, Bridge, and Nature's Beauty

I have been trying to get out in the woods
now that summer's heat has passed
(and
before the autumn shows us
it's full beauty)
to still
capture all that I can with my lens.

Sometimes you just turn around in your yard and find nature's glory too:

We went for a ride and found this little waterfalls
about a stone's throw from a bridge over an old road:

One day, we followed a ride on a road off the highway to get to a rummage sale
at a tiny, township hall.
Right next to it was a gorgeous little pond
with this fantastic curved bridge built over it!:

I loved the view of the bridge up close...
but
even better,
was the "orb" in the photo
when I downloaded it!
Doesn't it make you wonder?:

We went out on our lake
and captured this
fabulous sunset....
I may enlarge this one and frame it!
What do you think? Should I?:

Another shot of that lovely pond with the curved bridge:

A red dragonfly!:

I guess you could say
I was a little obsessed with
the curved bridge:

I hope you find
"end of summer"
beauty
in your life, too!

More Images of Summer

Today I am continuing
images
of
summer.

Because, before we know it, summer will be over.

Can you believe that August is almost here?

I can't!

It seems like we were just talking about crocus and the budding of the leaves!

This was a yellow lily in my garden:

A large tree root in the middle of a beaver dam in the woods:
(it reminded me of a sculpture!)

A dreamy pond...

A turtle who didn't want his picture taken!:

A swan in the middle of the beaver dam:

A beautiful purple wildflower!
Does anyone know its name? Is this a nightshade?

Another shot of the same kind of wildflower:

One more butterfly on the blossoms picture:

Embrace summer over the next  few weeks....
because
it
is
almost
over!!!

Another trip in the woods...

As I mentioned in an earlier blogpost, we took a trip a few days ago in the woods.

When we went there, we saw so many things I wanted to photograph, so I did. And I kept them for future posts.

So, today I thought I would share some more shots I got out on our trip.

When we first pulled up beside this pond, I looked across it and saw EIGHT big turtles on a log, sunning themselves! They were spread out, so I could only photograph a few at a time on the log:

Here is a closer look at one of them:

Here are the ones on the other half of the log:

And this single one, on another log!:

This is what we commonly refer to as a "picker bush" because of its thorns. But up close, it is kind of pretty. Look at the spider web tangled up in it:

This is a little river we saw out in the middle of the woods:

And a frog I saw in the middle of the lily pads:

I went to take a picture of the daisy and a BIG BUG landed on it!:

And, as we drove down a wood's road, we saw this adorable cabin (in the middle of nowhere!):

Here is a closeup of the horns over the door! I think they are moose horns:

Here is a beautiful butterfly I saw (or is it a moth, Ratty?):

We call this a "devil's paintbrush"...they are considered weeds to most people...but look how pretty it is up close:

Here, is another shot of some. I love the deep orange colors of them:

We saw some more wildlife both on that trip and on the lake, so I will be posting more in the next week or so....
