More Local Police Reports!

Yes...
it's time again for
LOCAL POLICE REPORTS
along
with MY COMMENTS
in bold italics.

Those of you that are new to my blog
probably don't know that I don't do all photography...

Sometimes I throw some humor articles in here too.

I regularly publish REAL reports
from my local newspaper
and make comments on them.

Because, frankly, they are funny...
and
I couldn't make this stuff UP if I TRIED!

So....
here we go!!!!:

For those of you that can't read the circled report, it says:

"10:58 a.m., homeless man yelling and singing on the corner
of Baraga and S. Fifth Street, advised to sing quieter."
***************************************************************************

1. Now, I don't know about YOU, but the fact that a homeless man feels good enough to SING is a great thing to me....I would NEVER report him to the police.  If YOU were homeless, would YOU be happy enough to be singing???  Nope. Me neither. (Give the guy credit for being happy for heaven's sake!!)

2. Being a good citizen, perhaps if the person that reported this to the police would've given the guy a sandwhich and a cup of coffee or a blanket or something it would have been better than reporting the poor guy to the police, don't  you think?

3. Did it make you smile to see that all the police did was ask him "to sing quieter"?  Good for them!!  They didn't order him to STOP singing...just to sing quieter.... I LOVED THAT!!!

4. Wonder what he was singing? Do you?

5. Wonder why the police didn't help  him by giving him the address of a local food bank or shelter? Or giving him a ride there? We have one here....I think they may have slipped up a bit there. Perhaps they did, but that wasn't published in the report. We can hope.

6. So, the lesson here is:
   a. the next time you see a homeless man loudly singing on a corner near YOU, please do NOT
      call the police and
  b. Please bring the guy a sandwich and a cup of coffee and maybe a new coat and
  c. don't wait for someone else to give him a list of places to find shelter and food, help  him out
by providing this to him or even a ride there..... and
  d. heck....sing along with him in the car as you help him out.

I know it is a hard thing to do....
but it could be YOU or me out there on a corner someday, homeless... singing,  and trying to cope with the life that is suddenly thrust on us.........................................................................................

More this and that from the woods!

Today,
I am showing some of the photos
we got
from a quick, refreshing trip out in the woods.

Sometimes, when things get reallllly hectic
in life,
I ask my husband to take me out for part of a day into the woods.

We ride around and talk and take a picnic lunch
and
look at nature.

It never fails to connect us better and to make us both refreshed.

I believe these are called Fleabane....they are all over on the sides of the roads:

White musk mallow. They remind me of apple blossoms:

I love looking at daisies at different angles:

And up close:

And THIS critter!
We have a love/hate relationship.
He is noisy.
He's a PEST.
He eats all my birdfeed at home....
He starts making noises under my bedroom window about 5:30am
and I want to strangle him!

But they are so cute...

I don't know what kind of flower this is, but I have some in my garden, given to me:

While driving by a pond in the woods, we saw a large ring of water.
We knew SOMETHING was swimming in it, but couldn't see what....
we kept
very
quiet....
and finally, we saw it!

I had to use my zoom lens because it was so far away....
but I got a picture of it...
a little blurry, but my first opportunity to shoot one...

a BEAVER!:
As soon as he saw us, he did the expected...he gave a large SLAP of his tail and went underwater...

From my garden, when we got back home....a budding Iris--
now it has already bloomed and died....

That's what happens...........
if
you
don't pay attention,
every single day....
to the
miracles
around you.........
they happen anyway
and
you've missed the
opportunity
to be
blown away
by them....

I hope you have time today
to see at least
one miracle of nature.

And shiny parts of cars:

See what I mean?

Antique Car Show: Part FOUR

We are continuing today
with
more of the antique car show!

I thought the detail of this car was really different:

I had never seen one before. The lines were really art nouveau to me:

I fell in LOVE with this hood ornament.
If I had my drill with me,
I would have wanted to drill it right off that car and take it with me....
(if I wasn't such an honest girl and a chicken besides!):

Or THIS one!!  I mean...what is not to love here?:

This one would look GREAT on our truck, the way we are always running in the woods looking for wildlife and ducks to photograph:

Or this one...with a sleeker looking bird on it:

Or maybe something that looks like your family crest?:

Maybe I was just born at the wrong time...because MAN, I love these old cars!:

Ford was classy back then....loved this hood ornament too!:

(And NO, I really am not quite that ROUND as the reflection shows in the bottom of this picture...the round cap distorted my shape....really!!  IF you look above the ridges at the reflection...it is more realistic.)   (That is my story and I'm sticking with it. LOL)

Antique Car Show: Part THREE

You say you haven't ever gone to
an
antique car show?

No?

Well, then---
go and read the last two blogposts (below this one)
and then come back up
and we
will continue
on your tour, together....

Look at this cute little red car!:

A Crosley...(whatever THAT is!)..
I just know it was adorable!:
(Pay no attention to the lady's reflection in the tire..you know, the one holding the camera)

Look at the cool insignia!:

"A fine car"--indeed!

And the dashboard!!
Just TOO CUTE!:

These shiney, shiney Chevy's wheels....
It makes me wanna hum: "drove my Chevy to the levie and the levie was dry..":

It also has the neatest tail lights and rear.
I know.
It sounds like I am obsessed with rears.
I just can't help myself:

I LOVED the suitcases and rack on this classic car....the perfect touch!:

Another gorgeous dashboard:

I know.

I KNOW>>>>>
ANOTHER rear picture.
See?
It's a sickness, I tell 'ya:

And of course, I had to do some of the photos in Sepia.
Because they BELONG to be taken in Sepia.....

So THAT is what the front seat looked like....
who knew?

I seem to remember the back seat's details a bit more...
Hmmm....
funny about one's memory, isn't it???

The cool dashboards and steering wheels!:

Another insignia!!:
