Krav Maga

Krav Maga is rapidly gaining support across the country. Krav Maga is the self-defense system for the men and women of the Israeli Defense Forces, and, according toWCBD TV it is required training for several of law enforcement agencies in the U.S.
“Learning self-defense is not just learning to kick and punch an attacker. Self-defense begins with not thinking of oneself as a victim. Attackers choose their victims the way predators choose their prey,” said Matt Robinson, Krav Maga instructor. “They always go after the weak, isolated, young or old because they are an easy target,” reported by WCBD TV.
The Israeli defense training is being implemented in several women’s self-defense courses as a way to train women to instinctively respond to a physical threat.
Men will also benefit from the training. David Kahn a New York City resident, was approached by a man with a knife on a New York subway. Kahn was able to use his training and not only defend himself but defeat his assailant.
“Krav Maga is easy to learn because it involves more gross motor skills than other forms of self-defense. It’s just a matter of igniting those instincts, Kahn explains.”
